Which arm platform to choose for Linux?

I remember that some time ago there were many fans to bury x86 and derivatives in favor of arm. So I had an obsession with replacing one of the nettops with arm Linux. Studying the Internet, I realized that this is a big and unpleasant hemorrhoids due to the closeness of most SoCs.
At the moment, I'm leaning towards a device based on Rockchip rk3066, the performance of this chip should be enough for my tasks, and mali400 as part of this platform gives hope for normal support for 3d / 2d acceleration. Except for the lack of skype and flash, I see only one drawback - the lack of hardware video decoding.
I hope that below you will share your experience or theoretical knowledge regarding running linux on arm platforms, and also help me with the choice of a specific device.

3066 is, to put it mildly, a terrible junk.
3188 is the choice of the Jedi.
In fact, in order to determine the appropriateness of the transition, you need to initially understand what you want to get from this transition.
I mean, for what purpose?
For some time now, as a hobby, I have been sawing "microservers" based on various devboards with ARM processors and, on the whole, I am satisfied with them, but I myself have not switched to an ARM desktop yet.

Look at the products of olimex, he himself used their boards in the creation of terminals for controlling the shop floor. Good technical support, forum, open device diagram, SoC - AllWinner.
