Where to start learning the magic of electronics?

I got interested in, I don't know the common word for this, electronics in general. Boards, transistors, resistors, soldering some cool stuff and more. From knowledge - school physics lessons (I know how to cut a light bulb to the battery). In the city there is an intelligent consumables store for such undertakings, only interested in where to get the base? What requests to form in Google, because the gaps are colossal. Perhaps you have some good literature on the subject in mind.
