Where to start a career if you feel your professional unsuitability, although you have never tried to get a job?

Hello. Sure. There are already a bunch of questions like this, so I apologize in advance. I'm 20, I don't know where to swim next. Average prof. education. I want to earn money by working with python, but I have no idea how to find / get a job, etc. From the skills I can highlight: python, django, unix, php, css, html, yii2, jqeury, sql, a little network, English b2. I don’t have super knowledge of the above things, and therefore it seems to me that they simply won’t take me anywhere, because I have never felt production live. And I would also like to hear from python programmers how their work goes, what they do, what tasks and so on.

selfdestroy , good afternoon. What caught my eye:
- a nickname about self-destruction and the absence of an avatar, which sometimes (not always) is a sign of low self-esteem. Yes, there are those who, for ideological or some other reasons, do not want to advertise their face, someone simply does not have a good photo, someone likes to put some kind of picture instead of a face, but are there really problems with the perception of oneself ?
- self-stigmatization: "professional unsuitability", "I don't have super knowledge",
- fear of rejection ("never tried to get a job"),
- position "from below", demonstration of guilt ("I'm sorry"),
- confusion ("concepts I don’t have how to find”, “I don’t know where to swim further”),
- the mood for failure (“
- "I have never felt production live" - there are internships, Open Source projects, online courses where you can make your own project while learning.
If you don't believe in yourself, who will believe in you? They will regret - yes, someone kind - will give advice, but think for yourself: you would hire a person who would say at an interview that, in general, he is poorly prepared to work for you, who would answer questions about the technologies known to him I would say something about not trying to study them because they are too complicated, etc.
I understand you very much that sometimes you want to give up and shift the responsibility for your life to someone else or to difficult circumstances. But you do understand that no one will fight for your dreams and ideals stronger than you, right? Only you can say to yourself: "I am the master of my life, and everything that happens to me is the result of my actions or my perception of what is happening." It is very easy to say: “love yourself”, “start to appreciate yourself”, but often behind low self-esteem lies precisely the unwillingness to take responsibility for your life. Try to do something along these lines. Then it will become easier in programming, and in employment, and in communicating with others.

What a strange person you are .. I am also 20 now, I started working as a programmer at 19, I also graduated from college. But I wanted to get a job so much that I just grabbed my teeth at the employer and until he hired me, I didn’t let him go and held him like a shepherd =) I remember they said we’ll call tomorrow, a week passed - no one called, but then I myself called them I dialed and they asked when I could come for employment .. If I hadn’t called, I’m almost sure that they would simply forget about me. And so everywhere where I did not come, they took me without problems. The main thing is to light your eyes and show them to the employer and you will succeed. Junov is now required a lot, who would not say anything, there are a lot of free places. And so, I’ll honestly tell you, if you don’t develop websites to order, then you don’t learn anything, although you write that you know this and that, but when you get settled you will understand that you were stupidly wasting your time on learning for some reason! But the only thing I strongly recommend is to learn the terminal in Linux, git and composer .. Without this, it was so difficult for me at 1 job that I even became disillusioned with programming, quit and didn’t touch my computer for several months =) So study them anyway, otherwise you'll have triple training and a fucking workload. Although, in fact, if he worked with frameworks, he should fumble. Also, by the way, I advise you to buy vps, you can find a server for a buck a month and practice stupidly remotely managing it through the console. Deploy a web server there, say for php, install some kind of Laravel, transfer files from your computer to it and back, so that there are no such stupid questions at work. Although there are no stupid questions, more precisely, everyone asks them,
Now about the python. Are you sure that you want a boa constrictor, not loot? Python progers get more php, but this is an average if .. In other languages, including php, you can get just as much. This is a financial issue .. And now I will say that vacancies in python require cool and experienced guys, since complex projects are usually done on it. So it's much easier to start on php, but only here there is a danger that you will become a bydlocoder and will write on Bitrix all your life. Therefore, immediately look for vacancies where knowledge of frameworks is required.
In short, set a specific goal for yourself and go for it. Whatever you choose, you can always achieve it. And most importantly, never give up, even if you're in a complete ass and don't know how to get out.

It's simple: come to the interview and speak honestly about your skills and vector: what would you like to study / where do you strive.
I guarantee that a maximum of 3 interviews and you will be employed.

Start your career by visiting a good psychologist and ask him this question. If the psychologist laughs and tries to feed you rational arguments (as in other answers in this thread), then this is a bad psychologist. And a good one will really help you personally even with a strange formulation of the question.

just start going to interviews.
- they can immediately offer you something - they
can smile at you and say "we will call you back" and not call you back -
they can refuse you and point out weaknesses (the coolest option for refusal, thanks to those wonderful people who do this)
stupor and fear of an interview will pass .
at some iteration you are taken.
you are working. all. you are no longer a graduate with a net labor curse. you proudly call yourself a developer.
To get somewhere you have to start.
not rushing? start without a hitch, through force.
good luck.

selfdestroy you have a standard complex of a student who is afraid of real life and understands that it will be very different from studying. The complex of a person who understands that the knowledge gained will not help much in real life, since the world is diverse and multifaceted, you can’t teach everything, you can’t understand and master everything. Therefore, you are absolutely logically afraid. BUT everything is comprehended gradually and there are no gods in the world, if you think that someone will say that everyone in all areas knows everything and rather hire me, then most likely it will not be difficult to fill up such a person with a pro. Therefore, if you are afraid to burn out at work, you are afraid that you will be ashamed that you said a lot of things at the interview, but you don’t have the experience to quickly integrate and learn new things, then just start with freelancing. Take yourself simple projects in which you did something or know, read how to do it, etc. Make your own site and through the site, as I did in parallel with the repair of electronics, developing new projects for speech recognition, programming and electronics development, take orders from friends of acquaintances, the main thing is to appear in the world, make themselves known and then forward more and more difficult. In parallel, read employers' requests for what professions are required, including what is required in your field. That's all. A person also appears in the world absolutely defenseless and naked... In general, my 9th grade of education left the technical school of electronic devices at 99 when I realized what they teach there, something that I have been studying in radio circles since the age of 12 and in my home laboratory have long mastered and knew. And then the complete collapse of the crisis debauchery of youth groups, it was simply unbearable for me to watch all this, although I was not afraid of them. In which case he could bring a crowd from his area. But it was all just disgusting.
I don’t like teaching at all, for some reason I quickly learn and understand on my own without a teacher, maybe I didn’t come across teachers interested in transferring knowledge. And here you are crying about some trifle ... Good luck!
By the way, as it will be easier with time, I will also master Python and Django, a bunch of plans ahead ... I also need Glade + Python for my ATM project, for the shell graph for user interaction. So set tasks and gain experience, that will be the development ...

At the age of 18-19, I didn’t really know anything either. He studied as an IT specialist, was engaged in all kinds of amateur radio, mastered then only microcontrollers that had appeared. I soldered circuits, similar to those that are now called "Arduino". In general, it was a hobby, nothing more. And then a familiar programmer calls me to their company, to do serious business. I come, and there is an X-ray tube power management system for half a kilowatt. From familiar to me - only the microcontroller. Everything around is a complete mess. All the hardware is done, and there is no one to write the firmware, the developer ran away from them. So I sat down and started coding. And it turned out that all my home crafts and projects are complete garbage, very far from reality. But nothing, somehow managed. First he came in the evenings after school, and then he got a full-time job. From "blink an LED" it took about 3 years before a full-fledged PID controller with a diagnostics and self-tuning system. During this time, 5 versions of hardware and a dozen versions of software came out "in production". Now even that company is gone, and those devices are still working in some places in distant countries. Then they made about 50 of them, maybe a little more. And now I design electronics for all kinds of analytical instruments.
In general, morality - there is little sense in studying and all sorts of self-propelled guns if there is no real task before your eyes. Go and work anywhere, even for a penny, but on real projects. The first year or two or three you need experience, and then you will already choose where there is more money, cookies are tastier and projects are more interesting.
