Where to read about the deployment of VDI from vmware available and step by step?

The only vmware product I'm more or less familiar with is their workstation. I heard a lot about the "advantages" of vmware in the field of virtualization (mostly marketing information), but I had no work experience.
Mainly interested in the following:

• Terminology. I am completely unfamiliar with vmware terminology, so it is extremely difficult to read the official installation and administration guide. I would be glad if someone gives an analogy with MS terminology
  
• What "components" does VDI from vmware consist of? (similar to Microsoft's VDI: connection broker, virtualization host, etc.)
  
• What are the main "features" that distinguish vmware from the Microsoft solution, what functionality do they have in common? (It is especially interesting whether vmware has the ability to automatically rollback vm to a golden image, similar to pooled desktops in MS)
  
• How is VDI deployed and managed with Linux guests? (with MS everything is simple and clear: their VDI is fully integrated into AD)
