Where to put the .git folder?
When working with git, should there be a .git folder at the root of the project, or do you place the .git folder in a directory with the project name inside the project folder?
This is a tautology, it's just that when I write in the console git clone% pathstrong%, then in my folder with an open project in VS Code another folder is created that has the same name as the project, and only .git is already created inside it
. For some reason I have git clone creates a separate folder for the .git folder, is that how it's supposed to be?
Keep the .git folder in the root of the project folder, and if so, how.
And another question is a little offtopic, what is the most worthy alternative to the git that you know, because it seemed that it was written by crazy Linuxoids, from whom you should already stay away, everything is done in this git through the removal of the brain, just like the exit from vim, where instead of just typing exit and seeing the save yes no question, they messed up some bullshit, but it’s obvious here, and something tells me that in the future, this will cause a whole bunch of problems with the privacy of raw materials, because since this is all implemented , it is not surprising that it will be possible to shoot off your own hand inadvertently, linuxoids are crazy people
