Where to go from Ubuntu?
Hello.
Relatively recently, I moved to Ubuntu and for a long time did not regret anything, but soon various small, so to speak, shortcomings and inconveniences began to appear. After consulting with one person, I learned that it was time to move out of bubunta in general for something more serious. Just for what?
The interface is very important to me. Well, I can't work on something ugly. Yes, I know that fans of terminal-like interfaces and non-lovers of interfaces at all will now fly in, but nevertheless, this is of great importance to me.
Secondly, the package manager is important to me. To be honest, I'm not very well versed in all this terminology yet, but I think I called it correctly. The fact is that I have a familiar algorithm for installing the necessary software under the APT package manager, and I'm afraid that if I move to another one, I may have problems. You never know some package will not be, or something like that. If I'm wrong, and if there is a better PM than APT, please correct me.
In general, this is all, perhaps. The ability to install various themes (or the presence of its normal default) and a package manager.
Who will advise where to look, because so far I have only one option - Linux Mint, and that one is under a big question because of its mint green, which immediately pulls you to puke %|
UPD
I forgot one more very important aspect. It is necessary that all software that is under Ubuntu (Sublime, for example, Chrome) is supported by this OS.

This man is a clown who has read forums for dummies.
Ubuntu is a mainstream distribution. There is no need to leave it anywhere.
I have "Mint" on my home machine (server on debian)
As for the design, I generally customized everything in monochrome for my favorite character from Mortal Kombat (Nub Saibot) =) But seriously, choose any distribution kit and pull DE to taste! Check out the wiki and decide for yourself, Good luck!
What does DE have to do with the system?
You demolish Unity and put whatever your heart desires.
If the problem is with ubuntu, then choose any other deb distro and go ahead.
You put Arch and ANY DE/WM on it and decorate it as you like.
In linux, no one will decorate for you. There are all the possibilities for this, you just need to figure it out and set up the system for yourself.
Do you want everything to be beautiful? Forward to Mac/OSX, so everything is beautiful and there is no need to think.
Judging by the text, it sounds like I want a Mac because of its beauty and stability, but I don’t have the opportunity.
Option 1: Buy a Mac
Option 2: Ubuntu is a very flexible distribution in terms of reliability and graphical environments. Set up the system, and you don't have to move anywhere.
Because you are confusing, if in a simple way:
There is a core of the system, a bunch of packages are hung around it. And this bunch of packages is what gives the name to the system. Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Centos
In fact, you can configure any of these distributions as you need. And install the packages that you need.
And the boxed solution is Mac.
Something definitely won't happen. No wonder Ubuntu has the largest number of packages. That's where the problems come from.
Relatively recently I moved to Ubuntu
Unity is not convenient for me.
I used to use Mandriva but now the horizons of this distribution are foggy ..... So
my choice now is Kubuntu. Everything is the same, only with KDE.
And for recipes for embellishments / ideas for desktops - look at linux.org.ru in the gallery of desktops.
Linux Mint - the same bubunta only with goodies in the form of Gnome2 Cinnamon and Mate forks, there is also a KDE version. Yuzaet turnip ubuntu and his own. By the way, if you are used to yaquake in KDE and miss it in Gnome, try Tilda
If design is important - KDE, a new version just came out, looks great!
Also, I can advise Elementary OS or Deepin OS from the Chinese brothers.
Deepin is beautiful and based on the same bubunt, you won’t have to get used to it especially much.
