Emulators come with the SDK. Accordingly, you can read in the description of the SDK. There are still alternative emulators for android (Bluestacks for example). The iOS emulator requires macOS. Yes, MacOS can be installed on a virtual machine (but rather on VmWare), google images on torrents, there are also instructions there.

One of the points for choosing the type of virtual machine VBOX'a hints that it is possible. Android exists as x86 and you can put it even in a virtual machine, even in a computer.
For layout and web development, you can use Chrome'a functions.
With iOS, things are not so simple. I’ll just assume that running an iOS emulator under MACOS will not work under VBOX, at least because of performance (the same Droid SDK under the emulator is slow and does not even load sourly on an average computer). + I'm almost sure that hardware_id is needed for normal iOS operation, but it's better for Mac developers to specify.

A very cool emulator is Genymotion. The functionality of the free version is more than enough, for small projects, it works very quickly, there are different versions of the system and different screen resolutions. In general, a thrill.

On Parallels, now you can download Android in a couple of clicks.

I recommend Genymotion. Really forget about the built-in emulator.
