Where should the counter be set for the most accurate result?

Hello. I installed a counter from Liveinternet to my site and now I have a question. I set the counter in the sidebar, which is visible on all pages, does the counter in this case count all the visitors who entered the site or only count the visitors who came to the main one, or is it necessary to set it in the footer? I note again that the counter is visible on all pages on the sidebar

Counters do not give an accurate result. They look at the dynamics. Therefore, they must be installed in such a way that it least hinders the loading of the site, i.e. before the closing body.
Happy users are much more important than counted ones.

lol. This is the counter block in the sidebar. This does not mean that the counter is in the sidebar. The counter is in javascript, and the javascript is either under the footer of the closing body, or is pulled up by a frame from external servers (if the counter API is shit).
In any case, the placement of the block does not affect the operation of Javascript in any way.

Привет!
На своих сайтах блоки счётчиков(к примеру, Яндекс.Метрика) без информера всегда вставляю в <head> чтобы код мог подсчитать любой IP-адрес и смог посмотреть быстро в службах статистики.

Here, even a regular expression is not needed, you can do with explode (PHP) or its analogue. There is more code, but it's easier than tormenting yourself with regular expressions.
