Where is the MK frequency written in the datasheet and how to choose it correctly for programming?
Good afternoon, I encountered such situations in Atmel Studio that you need to specify the frequency of the MK.
How to recognize her?
In the examples, they put it on from ... they put it.
Some say that the frequency of the programmable MK.
Others that the frequency is from a stone that is only on the programmer.
Tell me how and where to get it actually?
avr programmer and 2 MK
Atmega8A-PU
ATiny13
Below is a picture and an example with a stone that was referred to, but there is generally 12 kHz (12000A77), (although for some reason 12 MHz is written in the picture).

As much as indicated on the connected quartz. There is not much chance that it works from an internal generator.
The datasheet will indicate the maximum clock speed. At the same time, it is possible to clock both from the internal generator and from the external one (in this case, 12 MHz in the photo), or maybe not from quartz, but in general from the RC circuit (resistor with capacitor).
At the same time, there can be a multiplier in the MK and your quartz at 8 MHz through the PLL turns into 72 MHz as a result!
Details should be looked at a specific stone.
The frequency is indicated not by the programmer, not by the PC, but by the frequency of the quartz or internal oscillator from which you are clocked.
External quartz, we immediately notice, is more accurate than the built-in generator.
