Where is it more profitable for a programmer to live, in Moscow or Novosibirsk?

Now I am thinking where to move from my Zapupinsk, there is a variant of Novosibirsk, there are relatives, friends, or to Moscow. Of course, salaries in Novosibirsk are much lower than in DC. What do you think, is it worth going to Moscow for the sake of money and a career, or is the high cost of living and rent there just eating up all the difference in wages? The Novosibirsk Academgorodok also seems like a paradise to me, and there seems to be enough work, the only negative, in my opinion, is the cold and wind in winter. It is interesting to learn the experience of those who moved from Nska to Moscow. Not trolling for the sake of it, a really urgent question for me.

If udalenka - all the same where. If the office is Moscow
Compared to any other city, in Moscow the difference in salary is higher than the difference in renting an apartment.

Moved to Moscow from the south @ I give 30% of the salary for an apartment.
I plan to leave the office for remote work and go somewhere to the village again.

Moscow is a strange choice. It is better to live in a medium-sized city where there is infrastructure. but the prices for services are lower than in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, etc.
I live now in Tambov - I consider it the best choice. It's quite close to Moscow (4 hours by express). Quite far from Moscow, the environment is normal, Tambov and Belgorod are the cleanest cities in the European part of Russia. Of those that have all the necessary infrastructure. Housing prices are encouraging. I'm renting a very large and good 2-room apartment for 12K + 3k communal apartment. It's fashionable to find one for 8k.
I thought for a long time where to move out (I lived in Kharkov, then in Moscow) drew a sign for myself, held a tender and chose the winner - Tambov. Many will probably be surprised, but for 3 years I have never regretted it. The city is a great place to freelance. Of course, there is no place to work as a programmer in Tambov. Of course there are studios, but there are price tags per month at the level of 1 purchase in a supermarket. Freelance only.

Offtopic a bit, but I would recommend Minsk.
I moved a year ago and have no regrets.

Academ is truly a heavenly place! If there is a vacancy, move and do not think. As for the cold, it’s true (but a long down jacket will be happiness), but about the wind, it’s a lie. Even when it blows away on the Ob, it's quiet, but grace. But this is about the upper zone, and there is a breeze on "Sch". In general, depending on where you settle ... Living
in Moscow was also an experience. With a greater difference in salary than in renting an apartment, be prepared to spend at least 1.5-2 hours daily on the road home-work-home. And if you live two minutes from the metro, then the difference in rent will disappear, or even eat up most of the salary.

I moved from mine to Novosibirsk, I get a salary here very close to Moscow, but on the condition that I rent an apartment not for 40 but for 16, based on expenses, living in Novosibirsk is much more profitable for me than in Moscow.

you still filter - where it’s more fun to spend money - it’s definitely Msc .. and you have to be a very persistent tin soldier to NOT spend it ...
but also, in Msk there will be more options to raise your business *, if there is a vein for this,
if just hard worker (albeit in the field of IT), and just put it off - stay away from Msk as far as possible .. and indeed from megacities - then your choice is a low standard of living, decent infrastructure and communications and remote work
ps * - about business is also ambiguous ... it is also easier for a startup in conditions of decent, but NOT expensive infrastructure and good communication... but this is again NOT about Msk

In my opinion, Moscow and big cities in general are places not suitable for life. Comparison here: 4 reasons to leave the city

In Moscow, of course. In any case, there are many more possibilities.
If you are young and without a family, pack your bags soon :)
