Where is Azure's niche (in terms of financial ROI)?

I decided to play around with Azure for the purpose of self-education. I uploaded an ASP.NET project to it and, seeing the amount of payment for the month, I realized that, to put it mildly, it was not budgetary.
And now it became interesting how expedient it is to use it. If you need to make a small site, then it is logical to take shared hosting. If a large and loaded project - then you really need to have your own server (or as an option VDS / VPS), it will be cheaper.
I wanted to know if anyone has experience with the justified use of Azure as a hosting.

@mindtester

and where are the details about the chosen plans?

ASP.NET project
for personal purposes, you can trample into free plans for sure .. or you don’t say a lot of things
ps personal experience - everything works very cool. budget hosting cannot be compared. but this is realized only through trials .. no one believes in a word))
pps you can look for benefits on AWS (and that is very difficult), but openwork is friendlier to everything dotnet. for other stacks, all other hostings are google, and everything and everyone else

It is advisable to use for pet-projects, if they fit into free limits. Or for entreprise solutions where fault tolerance and scalability are important.
For business card sites, it is generally not advisable.
