Where did the NOD32 memory go?

Why is the amount of memory occupied by NOD32 antivirus increasing?
For two days of work, the Eset NOD32 v.5 antivirus brazenly captured almost 2GB of RAM and did not want to give it away until I slammed the process in the manager. Where does he need so much?
Operating system - Win7.

How many years I used it both myself and at workstations, but I hear about such a glitch for the first time.

It looks like the problem was solved by installing an older version: 5.2.9 -> 5.0.95.5.
