Where could such activity come from?

Good afternoon,
there is a site with attendance of about 100-200 people per day.
There is a server on which there are several sites, including this one. After restarting the server, the site falls off, writes an error 504. After some more time, it gives an error 502.
The most interesting thing is that the rest of the sites work fine.
I started to figure it out, according to Zabix, the server is working fine.
Under db there is a separate server. I opened PHPMyAdmin from which that site works, opened the "states" tab, there is a graph:

I'm interested in the "Connections / Processes" graph, judging by the graph, it says that there is 1 process and 2223 connections, is this a normal value?
Moreover, if I start pressing F5, then the graph shows 1 process and 20-35 connections, where can 2223 come from? After all, this is a very large number.
