Where can I get the code "Google Start" (Google Now Launcher)?

I decided to learn development for Android and, at the same time, finish the Google Start launcher for myself.
Everyone likes it, but I would like to add a few little things and increase the speed of work.
I have experience of such work, but not for mobile platforms, but for classic Embedded System.
So where is the code and how to get it?

Get a job at Google, ask to finish this launcher, get the source code, edit.
Well, or try to decompile, but I doubt that something normal will work out there.
