I'm thinking of buying a template on Themeforest, is it worth it? And how to separate grains from plevins, i.e. I would not like to buy a template with a crooked code :)

If you have been trained in layout, then you do not need ready-made templates.
You need to look for PSD layouts and typesetting, not looking at templates.
I’ll say right away about Tem Forest - you shouldn’t buy anything there.
Ready-made templates are made unique and usually contain a bunch of unnecessary code.
Take PSD, from simple to complex, and layout.
Ideally, find a mentor who can review your code (not code for you, just review).
In extreme cases, write here with a request to comment on the layout.

To be honest, themeforest has junk code templates, a lot of classes and id. Moreover, all their code can be viewed through the developer console (source code) of the page. Huge libraries with js files, heavy sliders and so on. If you buy a layout for layout, you can learn from them, they are even and clean. Otherwise, the idea of ​​looking at someone else's code, and even for money, is not particularly promising, given that this can be done for free and in Russian realities. Look at the work of good web studios: sibirix.ru, youdiz.ru and others according to the Runet rating, open the source code and see how it works.
