Where can I get an example implementation of video encoding with pure libx264?

Hello! No one knows where to get a clear example with explanations, and / or the libx264 API documentation for implementing video stream compression in C / C ++? You don't want to smoke the code of something like OBS-Studio, but the task is worth it.
Connecting FFMPEG is not considered, as the most compact specialized solution is planned.
