Where can I find my.cnf file?

Can't find MySQL config file.

I run the command: locate my.cnf:

/etc/alternatives/my.cnf
/etc/mysql/my.cnf
/etc/mysql/my.cnf.fallback
/var/lib/dpkg/alternatives/my.cnf

It is logical that /etc/mysql/my.cnfwhat I need, but when I open it I get this:
5f48b61bc4427344343768.png

As a result, the goal is the following:
I have a problem with an error: MySQL Server Has Gone Awa
Recommendations: Increase max_allowed_packetand wait_timeout.

max_allowed_packet - I increased in /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnfand it seems that after the server reboot the parameter remained (checked through the command in phpmyadmin)
wait_timeout - Missing in the file: /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnfand therefore I can not figure out where to change it.
