It may turn out that renting a dedicated server and putting virtualization there (ESXi or proxmox) and running virtual machines there will be cheaper than buying a dozen virtual machines from a hoster. If you want to make money on this, then everything must be considered: - resources for one minecraft server, the cost of these resources from different providers, the stability of these providers, etc.

well, I see a docker container with minecraft https://hub.docker.com/r/itzg/minecraft-server/ , so you can take an account, for example, in Amazon or Google, deploy some Kubernetes there, and deploy any number of containers there which is required ..
The most important thing, of course, is that everything must be considered, resources, etc.

What do you mean by many? what are the configuration requirements?
in general, it is worth asking the hosters, in technical support. They can go along...

You can take a ton of single-board devices like OrangePi or NanoPi from the Chinese on Ali for $ 8.5-10 / pc. and each - a microSD memory card, and you will need to buy them with a margin in order to quickly change dead cards. And roll the same Linuxes on them. And buy the appropriate number of routers plus a computer from which to administer all this economy.
Each single boarder is powered by 5V \ 2A, that is, it consumes up to 10W, plus routers. A metal box with a fan for your 300-500 cars - it will be such a sickly heat gun :)
