Where can I find good tutorials or step-by-step guides for building a relatively complex robot?
Friends,
No matter how trivial it may sound, I am interested in the topic of robotics. I myself have no direct relation to this area - I work in the engineering of underwater equipment, but I feel that I want to dig a little deeper here.
Actually, the question is where to find a step-by-step disassembled tutorial / manual / step-by-step instructions for creating a robot. First of all, they are interested in more or less complex projects that affect autonomy, navigation, mechanical manipulations, AI, including hardware and software aspects.
All I've found so far have been either relatively simple designs or general descriptions without any detailed information.
Please note, I'm not asking about theoretical teaching material - this is good enough. I would like to try an interesting project in practice as a training and identify the most interesting areas for myself.
As one example of an interesting project, I would call this or the same here . Although there are certainly a huge number of different variations.
Thank you in advance :)
Update #1_12/15/2016:
I guess this topic is interesting not only for me. I will try to update this post as I learn more. Perhaps this will be useful to someone.
So, I have already found some very interesting projects, but for their implementation the very first thing I need is a 3D printer. I decided to build Ultimaker using this manual:

However, hello colleague.
I won’t speak for copters, but for underwater robotics you won’t find manuals for serious things. Because it is all behind seven seals, if not the first department, then a trade secret. Although ... there are nuances.
For example , https://www.bluerobotics.com/ will gladly sell you a device designed for self-assembly for a penny. And of course, there you can also see what everything is assembled from and even how it is controlled (Open-source: ardusub.com/) Have
n't left anywhere since my student days www.openrov.com, although it has grown significantly. Here is a complete stock of assembly guides. Of course, they want to sell you an Assembly Kit, but about 3 years ago I definitely saw CAD files for a 3D printer from him on the Internet. This device, by the way, was picked up repeatedly in the vastness of Ru-net. As you understand, it is far from any Sub-Atlantic level device, but it still floats.
But with AUV's (AUV) everything is bad in terms of accessibility. There is an almost dead OpenAUV, which works in conjunction with OpenROV, of course, but it is not favored. Problems, I think, you know. Here it would be interesting for me to see it myself, otherwise import substitution, you know, but we don’t really have anything. There is at least Gavia ( www.teledynemarine.com/gavia), but no one will give information on it, except for performance characteristics. In this part, while Open-Source is very tight. Even within the industry you will not try.
