Where can I find a list of unresolved problems that can be solved through programming?

Let me put the question in simpler terms.
For example, I am fond of topics of parallel programming, as well as linguistic analysis in queries. Some areas I know only in theory, in some I have practical experience. The main thing is that these areas are interesting to me in themselves, that is, everything is in order with motivation. In addition to this, I am an experienced web developer and it seems that I could help projects working in these directions.
The question arises, how to find out what projects are working on these topics? If not a project, then maybe there are some unsolved problems in general, useful for the topic? Or unrealized additional features in existing software?
How to search for this?
Separately, it is worth clarifying:

  • I'm not looking for a startup idea. I'm interested in a puzzle whose solution might be useful. It can be monetized - good, it can't, but sometimes it can be used in other software - that's good too.
  • I'm not very interested in revolutionary ideas. Like: write the correct compiler for C, or rewrite MySQL correctly. That is, not so much universally used systems, but more local things for a not so much wide audience, with a sane development period. Therefore, most of what Microsoft Research does is too big of a revolutionary project for me.
