Where are transactions that were rejected from being added to the current block stored?

Hello, it's very difficult to find information on how everything works under the hood in Bitcoin. Interested in the following question. Where are transactions that were rejected from being added to the current block stored? Is there detailed documentation (possible in English), where all this is well explained? Is IRC used as a link to find active nodes?

@adugin

1) If the transaction is not recognized as valid, it is discarded and is not stored anywhere.
2) If the transaction is valid, but not included in the current block, it is stored in the mempool - a special memory area, a copy of which is available for each mining node.
PS Information is very easy to find, just try to search.
