Where are letters saved?

Hello. Is there a test local server from which letters are sent via the mail() function, where you can see the contents of these letters, and their attachments?
System: Centos7
nginx, php-fpm

Sent - nowhere, if there is no special filter. Make a crosspost to some local address - then they will fall in parallel to a local mailbox
