When creating a page, content is not displayed on Wordpress, how to deal with this?

Clients asked to make a new page on WordPress. I went to the admin panel, create a page, select the base template and update it. But in the change view, the content does not appear. Moreover, an already existing, but different page is displayed under a different address in the address bar.
The same problem was when I wanted to change pictures. I went to the admin panel, clicked edit the page, and there in the main field there is completely different content and it’s not clear then how to edit the page.
Why can this be?? FTP access also did not facilitate the search. Maybe someone knows what these features are in displaying information on WordPress ?? Or look somewhere else?
