What you need to know when choosing a hard drive for a laptop?

Such a joke. Laptop hard drive died.

I'm thinking of buying a half terabyte hard drive.
Can I choose any? Or only from the factory which? Are there any restrictions?

What is a good hard drive?
Laptop: asus n53jf.

Like I can go to dns and say that a hard drive is needed for a laptop?

@opium

yes, any new ssd will suit them, usually a three-year warranty, if it breaks, change it

No. Are you crazy? SSD only, now it's not the 90s or 2000s anymore.

The disc must be 2.5”.
If there was a sata drive - then ssd, sata (this should be written on the box !!!)
According to the manufacturer - one of the best - samsung EVO.
I personally use Kingston (only NOT series A)

2.5 inches SATA you need. It is not necessary to chase expensive ones like Samsung EVO, the laptop is already almost necrophilic, it makes no sense.
