I do 1920 wide (1170 content), 970 wide (750 content), 480 wide. (320 content)
From 360x640 to 1920x1080
Google: "responsive web design"
Here are the current stats: gs.statcounter.com/screen-resolution-stats
Approximately half of the users access websites from mobile devices.
Inexpensive laptops: 1366 px wide; not new 1280 laptops.
Most new monitors are 1920x1080 px
. Many old monitors are from 1024 to 1280 px.
Here's my answer to a similar question.
The size of the content part depends on the amount of content. For example, bashorg is 740px wide, mail.ru is 1280px, and the personal account (or whatever it is called) adsense.google.com generally stretches to the full width of the monitor / monitors.
I don't understand why this
Look at that garbage that they rub to you about, I do it the way I do in the same way, they went through such a forest.
The principle of what if at the maximum to explain.
1920px width or 320px - i.e. you draw exactly for this monitor or mobile phone, why? Because there are 2 principles of mobile use and desk use. What is it - 2 rules of the designer, everyone chooses to their liking. Initially, the layout is created either for a 320px phone, and then it creates a layout that adapts to 1920px, or absolutely vice versa 1920px, and then adapts the design to a 320px phone.
Both options are good, but I personally do it first for large 1920px monitors, and then I adapt it to mobile 320px, I generally don’t use it for tablets, because often layout designers and progers adapt the design of the site themselves, blocks and fonts are automatically adjusted on the machine with the help of frameworks, and it’s difficult to fit the phone to look good.
In general, I have a model that is both 1920px and 320px, I just transfer the layout to a mobile phone and correct it myself, and then give it to layout. You can generally do 3 options at once 1920px, 1024px, 320px - these are the 3 main monitor options for 2018.
If you want on Mac and other monitors where the resolution is higher than FULL HD, i.e. 2k, 4k, 5k (TVs).
In general, you can make the layout initially 2560px, but often it is simply not required.
I will also add in large companies in Russia where I worked there they used 95% of the projects, 1920px width for the layout, and the monitors were 2560px to make it more convenient to watch the layout under 1920px.
