In general, because the idea for a startup or an interesting project does not come. I want to take my knowledge of JS and PHP to a new level (instead of PHP, maybe I'll take ruby, I haven't decided yet). The question is different, which project can be taken for cloning, so that in the future, this project at least pays for hosting, but primarily for educational purposes.
There were ideas like: "Intelligent" portfolio sites for the IT sector to work with APIs from popular resources. There was an idea to store the code on open-source, for example, on github, etc.
