What version of Ruby should I install on OS X (beginner)?
I took some basic online Ruby courses at codecademy and codeschool, tryruby and so on. I'm going to get on the tracks. The current version of Ruby on my OSX is 1.8.7. Should I upgrade and if so, which build? Thanks :)

I advise you to install rvm . And then it already has ruby 2.0. (By the way, recent versions of rvm handle all rail dependencies via a package manager like homebrew )
