Red Murphy, stock of basic words, 300 pieces ( https://lingvist.com/ru/ ) and you can start reading literature in English on the language / technology that you already know. It is also desirable not with a strongly academic language, but with some tutorials.
You read a book, look up new words in the dictionary, throw them into Anki (you train Anki every day for 10-20 minutes). You do reading every day. And by the end of the book, one page will take less time, and you will look into the dictionary less. And after 3-4 books you will already calmly read (rarely glancing at the dictionary).
PS: This method is not suitable for communication in English (both text and voice).
I use a working and well-established action plan:
I have been studying English for several years now. The uncomplicated English grammar, which is stuffed in some English language courses, gave me a headache (now, when communicating with native speakers, I see that grammar is a headache for them too :-).
My (probably wrong) recipe: find your favorite_works (movies, books, songs) in English. Get the lyrics of your favorite_works and get the audio of your favorite_works. And cramming. Long and hard. The text and sound of these favorite_works.
Well, then, in a calm atmosphere, ask the teacher - what grammar rules apply in the first line of the Beatles song "A Hard Day's Night".
It's almost useless.
Translate all information on your PC into English, phone too.
Google in English, even with errors.
Make up stories on your own in English, in your head, several times a day, a week. Learn abbreviations and slang phrases (btw, af etc.), you will often find yourself at https://www.urbandictionary.com, a useful resource.
Communicate in English for a couple of hours a day with someone, there are resources for this.
To read the text in English - super knowledge of the language is not needed. There are enough words to learn, the construction of words and the cases when these words are applied and how they are applied. In reality, 500 words are used for almost full-fledged communication, so there is no point in getting hung up on cramming.
I can recommend an excellent audio course "Your 5-step plan for confident English" on the site https://enjoyenglish-blog.com
Lately I have been listening to books in Audible (a friend gave me access to his rich library) and on LightSail https://lightsailed.com/reading-during-covid-19/#c... I don’t know how it is now with free registration of simple fizyu faces, if it doesn't work out - write in a personal, I can share my access. The application is very well thought out for ease of reading: highlighting lines, measuring reading speed, etc. It is geared towards teaching children, but there is also serious literature on business and history.
From textbooks - for beginners Bonk, more seriously, of course, all Murphy's books. I studied in English, we had textbooks for the levels of Upper Intermdiate, Buesiness, etc.
There is also a small selection here - my hundred-year-old site on the people hplg.narod.ru/English.html
Very good grammar explanations for beginners: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX4_taMVkoAs6Q-SC...
plus a site with detailed articles and practical tasks: ok-english.ru
And another good channel: https://www .youtube.com/channel/UCl59-tR-dJmF-B6iD...
Good luck with your studies!
