What transfer protocol is used by Exchange 2013sp1?

Do I understand correctly that by default Exchange2013 sp1 uses the protocol to transfer mail within the network and outside the mapi protocol. Unless, of course, you yourself do not configure the transfer via smtp pop and imap. Does activesync also use mapi?

The question is rather vaguely asked.
Mail messages are transferred between servers via SMTP.
Client connections over the MAPI protocol that is wrapped in RPC are now more often HTTP (outlook anywhere) - where RPC is wrapped in which MAPI calls are wrapped.
ActiveSync is generally a separate protocol for mobile devices.
