What topic to choose for scientific work in physics with programming elements?

We need a topic for scientific work in physics with some superiority over other physicists. I think to use programming skills. Now tell me, please, some interesting topic or ideas that unite physical. and prog. I know a little C, Java, C Sharp.

Take some experience that requires a differential calculation and model it. Differential calculation, so that there is an advantage over others (it is difficult to derive differential equations, but it is easy to calculate on a computer). A fertile subject is electromagnetism.
Personally, when I defended my master's degree, I wrote a program that simulates the behavior of low-temperature plasma in an ultrahigh electric field.

I don't know if it will work, but the idea is this: a "true" random number generator (TRNG) based on some kind of physical effect.
I also support Andrey 's idea about TEMPEST and a laser microphone, in each case you can also consider protection measures (specific noise in the first case and ultrasonic emitters on glass in the second as an option).
"Radar" from matches and acorns ( examples ) as a demonstration of the Doppler effect (or other physical effect, depends on the radar scheme).
There are many interesting projects here, but mostly the emphasis is on engineering, and not on the eternal shine of pure science.
