What tools are relevant for nodejs + express?

I want to write an application, but it hasn't been in trend for a long time. What is relevant now, what spec to use?
Ideally, I want a template engine + scss
for the script, I'll probably connect babel
Can someone advise their spec of tools?
Thinking about haml ||
slim something similar so that nothing needs to be put into the system. firebase will not work, maybe some kind of text or maybe redis
