I want to get an EDS to send reports to the tax office. This is what is written on the tax website:

The certificate is recorded on a storage medium certified by the FSTEC of Russia or the FSB of Russia. The CA of the Federal Tax Service of Russia supports USB Type-A key media, in particular: Rutoken EDS 2.0, Rutoken S, Rutoken Lite, JaCarta GOST, JaCarta-2 GOST, JaCarta LT, ESMART Token, ESMART Token GOST and others that meet the established requirements.

Q: Which carrier is best for me and why?

I need to be able to use this media easily and freely on different systems. For example, I personally have Linux Mint 19. The accountant who helps me probably has Windows.

If you get it for free in the Federal Tax Service, then it will be non-recoverable. Forget about the flash drive and the registry. Come with your token. There will be NO licenses for cryptoPRO in the EDS.

I use 2 different digital signatures: 1 was given to me at the Reporting Point, they themselves wrote out the key there and somehow store it there - I don’t have it - I don’t need it, because they do the accounting and they send reports , when I need to sign a document, I receive an SMS with a code on my phone, and I insert it into a special window in their interface. All this costs around 4000 rubles per year, including bookkeeping. To compare an EDS in Kontur with a record on your media, it also costs 4000 rubles a year, that is, it is not profitable to take from them, and even pay a helping accountant.
I have the 2nd EDS from VLIS - for exchanging documents with counterparties, it costs 600 rubles, and it's so cheap because the key carrier is the hard drive of my laptop, if I lose it, then I can restore it 1 time for free. The same signature can be used for reporting, it’s just that my 1st signature cannot be used for exchange with counterparties (or there it seemed to me unprofitable in terms of tariffs for the volume of documents).
And recording on a flash drive costs 3-4 tr. from any provider - I have not seen cheaper - it's expensive and this is nonsense, let them store their own keys on flash drives for that kind of money.
So for 4600 a year I have a full stuffing.

Rutoken C is best suited, but!
You must understand very clearly that modern Russian legal norms strictly prohibit the transfer of a token to unauthorized persons! In the current terminology, this is CIPF - a Means of Cryptographic Information Protection. Purely technically - nothing prevents you from copying an outsourced accountant to the registry of his OS. But legally, God forbid, of course, if bad things are done with the help of your EDS, you are an idiot. And you can't prove otherwise.
