What to study for the Web?
Hello, I am finishing my project, which is mainly related to desktop applications and I want to switch to the Web. I worked a little with HTML+CSS+PHP. But I have heard that Node.js is very popular and usable now and is developing well, I have plans for it.
What do I want to do on the Web?
I want to create sites (services) that work well with the database, work with client (desktop) applications.
UPD : It is advisable to justify, or give a link to read why it is worth studying this or that (if you cannot explain briefly yourself). Thank you for understanding =)

the client does not care what the server is written on, for the client the main normal api is rest / soap (I don’t like it, but it’s quite a workhorse) or something else.
There is no silver bullet, but this is not a reason not to look for it))) in fact, any language with advanced web development tools and a large community will suit you.
there is always something new on hearing, on which great hopes are placed, in fact it is often either not important or depends on the task.
I didn’t like node.js, someone likes it ─ it doesn’t make it better or worse, if you don’t have long tasks on the server, then it’s a completely working solution
