What to read to a novice system administrator?

Good day, colleagues.
As you know, the key to a good specialist is the right base and practice.
I would like to initially lay down knowledge about networks, network equipment, OS WinServer and system components.
What would you recommend reading for a novice system administrator?
Where to begin? What books and manuals?

Do you want an honest answer? You don't need to read at first. Theory without practice is dead. Get yourself a couple of services with a non-stop mode of operation. Therefore, you will begin to read what will be necessary.
Habr to read definitely every day! Do not separate books into niks or windows. Approaches to system administration are the same everywhere. Regularly visit forums on routers and virtual machines that you have chosen. At the moment, powershell is strengthening its positions. The problem is that it is dead without a domain network. Register http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com here for sure. Sign up for courses http://skillfactory.ru/ or http://www.specialist.ru/ =)

A good option is to pick up a "paravoz" to an experienced admin, i.e. go to work as an enikey (assistant) for an experienced administrator, over time there will be no questions, what to read, as tasks arise and their solution (advice, search for a solution from Google, reading articles), experience will be gained.

@vvpoloskin

You start VirtualBox with 3 machines, you put on one winserver, on 2 other win clients and go ahead - build domains, configure policies, and you will find what to read further.

About networks, I think the most suitable book is "Computer networks. Principles, technologies, protocols." Just read the latest edition (4th). According to Windows, I advise video courses from "TC Advanced Training". There are plenty of them on the Internet. The author of the courses (Ruslan Karmanov) has a peculiar approach to the presentation of the material. And in general, a well-known person.

So that all this information is not lost, also read Time management for system administrators of the same Limoncelli
