Anna, judging by your questions, they teach you from terribly ancient and outdated materials. Therefore, if you need to prepare specifically for the exam, force your teacher, because if you have picked up modern and relevant ideas about how it all works, you may not agree with your teacher.
And secondly, 30 years ago, at the time of Norton, all this was many times easier than now, so it seemed to be given to users. Now all this has become so complicated that not every administrator goes deep into such issues.
The same process management in Linux - several ideas about how it should work have already changed. Many modern courses still operate on timeslice, although they have long since been deprecated. Many people think that CFS is a standard, but it is only a third of what actually happens.

You can read books, and watch videos :-)
On request, it looks like a tutorial and the basics, so you need to look for them.
PS here is a video with a lot of profile . Previously, MVA courses from small soft ones were relevant , this is a free online service, there is a lot of everything useful for beginners.
