Read Head First HTML & CSS 2nd ed. (Now I'm practicing layout - someone else's and my own design).
WHAT TO READ TO REINFORCE AND IMPROVE YOUR SKILL?
Literature in English and Russian languages.
Help advice, colleagues.

I will share my own experience.
Read the DOMs of large sites, Google, Contact, Habr, Toaster, etc. Look at the implementation.
I myself sometimes do this, draw new ideas.
