What to expect when storing a session in a database?

I'm considering the option of storing the session in the database.
Of the pluses, I see the possibility of quick and simple samples.
I don't see any cons.
Share your experience. Especially interesting is the change in the load on the server, specifically on the base. How critical is this and is it worth it at all.
I don't think it matters, but the project is based on yii2, mysql database
