What to do with suspended contracts on Upwork (oDesk)?

Now I have 2 out of 5 parallel contracts suspended.
One customer referred to the next work in the summer, but the summer is coming to an end, and the orders have not appeared.
The other customer just doesn't respond.
It seems to me because of this, and invites began to come less. Used to be a few, now one a month.
How do you act in this situation?

1) I am waiting
2) I am writing persistently to the customer.
I have a dozen or even two suspended contracts. Invites often come in several pieces a day. So I don't think that's the reason.
I know for sure that invites stop pouring in when you change the availability time, which is not completely free, but partially. Moreover, you return back and the invites do not start to pour in again, the situation may not change within months or a year.

Very doubtful.
I also have suspended contracts, there are 2 ways out:
1) close yourself;
2) wait / try to contact the customer and resolve the issue.
