What to do with an old tablet?

Not sure if I'm posting this question in the right place, but I couldn't find another one.
So, on the topic: I have an old weak Lenovo Ideapad A1-07 tablet (link to the description on the Lenovo website) . The tablet was flashed for android 4.0 2 years ago, and then everything suited me in it. I didn’t use it for about a year, I recently turned it on to check its performance, and realized that it was terribly slow. Attention, the question is: what to do with it in order to "speed it up" as much as possible? Is there a chance that some Cyanogenmod will get on it and "speed it up"? (There is no official cyan for it) Maybe you just need to root it, and remove any slag like the Lenovo app store, etc.? And how not to remove the excess?)
Maybe you can put more RAM and a more powerful processor into it (having bought it at a disassembly or something like that)?)
In general, it is interesting to read all the possible options, even the most absurd ones at first glance :)
The option "throw it out and buy a new one" is not considered : I can think of something like that myself, it's boring. I wonder exactly what can be done with such an "old man".

Modernization will not work, there is no sense in cleaning. You can put a fresh Cyanogen, but this will not fix the situation much.
Either sell it cheap or make a clock/weather/photo frame/video surveillance.
Just do not give it to someone for normal use, the brakes of the system will greatly affect the psyche of the one to whom this gift will be given (verified).

Video holds hardware HD but it will not pull the game.
Books should be opened, but for more it is not intended IMHO.
There is no point in updating android. Hardware old video will not get any better from this
