What to do with a smartphone (cracked touch, image artifacts)?
The beautiful smartphone Lg G2 D802, after an unsuccessful replacement of the wheelbarrow, retired. The device works, the touch is buggy, which, in principle, does not interfere with some initial settings. The image on the display is with a small artifact (spot), if you do not look closely - it is not noticeable from two meters.
It's a pity to throw it away, it's impossible to use it for its intended purpose. If you sell for spare parts, they give quite a penny, and there are a lot of offers on the market.
The question is - can something useful be done from it for the home, for the family? Share your experience plz.

That is, right in the phone there will be a fully functional OS to choose from.
In fact, the smartphone is weak, but the computer, you install kali linux or freebsd and configure what you need on it.
Next, drag the phone to the free Wi-Fi.
Connect to wifi, send ssh, leave phone.
You come home, pick up the phone, tadaaam, here's a proxy for you.
Well, or ... if you know how to solder, then you can make Remote Control ala smart home.
But this is all a collective farm and is wasting time, release the phone for retirement or sell it at a pawnshop IMHO.
You can make an access point with distribution via Wi-Fi (or USB). You leave somewhere with a laptop - you will have Internet
