What to do if remote employees complain about the lack of time in completing assigned tasks?

The bottom line is this: the company has remote employees (not to be confused with freelancing), they began to complain that they do not have enough time to complete their tasks. I don’t understand the specifics of the work of each of them, but after consulting with my friends, I found out that the deadlines are adequate, it’s just that they spend their time irrationally or go about their own business. How can this situation be resolved?

Rallies - every morning if the time zones are not very different, a general Skype meeting where everyone reports on what has been done and what is planned.
If someone has a problem, he reports it, perhaps one of his colleagues has already encountered such a problem and will help solve it and not waste time.
Monitoring software ..... sometimes helps, but you need to remember that your task is not to kill VK and cats at lunchtime, and doing work, in some cases, you can achieve the opposite effect on such software, so such solutions must be used very carefully.

First, evaluate the work you give them. Perhaps with their level of knowledge, they can not master this.
As an option, install software that will monitor the work of an employee. Or, to begin with, ask to set a timer, let them first force themselves to do something.
