What to do after learning C++?
Good day to all!
Finished learning C++ from a book ("C++: Basic Course" by Herbert Schildt) and now I'm learning DirectX, but when I get to the forums, I realize that I don't know a lot about C++.
And here questions arise:
1. How to keep abreast of events regarding C ++, and programming in general?
2. What libraries and tools are worth learning?
3. Is it worth using PVS-Studio?
4. While studying C++, I wrote programs in Visual Studio Express 2012, and now I'm interested in your opinion: is it worth switching to the 2015 version or even switching to Code::Blocks?
PS At this stage, I'm interested in the direction of 3D graphics and, to a small extent, the game engine (the standard set of a "schoolboy" who wants to make ultra cool games in 1 month, but I'm more drawn to the graphics area, and I understand that I will need a lot of time ).

1) Read spec. forums. Constantly "be in good shape" - to develop something.
2) Depends on your goals. You should definitely look at stl, boost, qt. Plus try different compilers.
3) As you wish.
4) For 2015 - worth it. On Code::Blocks - optional. The studio is very comfortable.
According to your desires - start not from a low level. Take at least SDL. There was once a cool HGE, but in my opinion it is not supported now. And choose a SIMPLE goal. Classics of the genre - snake, tetris. Write them, with OOP, configuration through configs and more.
Does this mean that things have not yet reached theoretical physics? About the third stage?
1. Study further, write more.
2. stl, boost. qt will pervert your mind.
3. no
4. The younger the version, the better.
