What to choose: Kafka or RabbitMQ?
The goal is to exchange tasks (process the video for me here) and answers (processed, the result is over there).
Colleagues on NodeJS use Kafka for these purposes, and pythonists drown for [email protected] What is the truth?

If your colleagues are competent, then they can explain their position - why exactly they chose this solution and what is wrong in the opposite version.
If they can't give any clear arguments other than "I like it so much" and "the cool company X uses it" - then forget about their opinion.
For me, if the project is not very large (and in a very large one, I would like to hope that the developers are still quite competent and can justify it) - neither one nor the other is necessary. It smacks too much of a cargo cult.
