What to choose - get real development experience or continue to learn what you like?

Hello!
Need advice from experienced comrades.
I have been studying Python on my own, PostgreSQL intensively for 2.5 months already, I like everything, everything is clear, everything suits me.
But now there is an opportunity to work with Ruby, Ruby on Rails (I have no experience with them at all), PostgreSQL on a real project (automation, web at my university), where experienced people can suggest and help.
Honestly, I don’t know what to choose or continue to learn Python and not know when I can reach the level for a job or start working with Ruby now, RoR gain experience, and then get a job in Python?
Will I be needed at all with such experience in Ruby, RoR?
Thank you!
PS Ruby in terms of syntax is a little annoying.

Both Python and Ruby are just programming languages. Tools that help solve specific problems. You should never refuse to learn new technologies for yourself if there is a good opportunity for this. :)

With work experience, albeit in a different language, it is easier to find a job than without experience. Work is not only a PL, but also a bunch of different technologies, plus interaction experience and processes.

Ruby is a pretty good language that inherits a lot of the right stuff from Smalltalk.
If you want to understand OOP well, then Ruby has something to offer you.
I have been writing in Python for 8 years now, but there are some things that I only understood thanks to Ruby, Smalltalk or Objective-C.
