What to choose for l2tp beeline: linux+xl2tpd or pfsense?

Which of the options is more stable and will not be out of a cannon on sparrows. Linux is most likely debian. The entire economy will live inside the hypervisor.

My router (asus rt-n56u with 3rd party firmware) uses xl2tpd. Works stably.
