What test tasks are given for a typesetter?

Friends!
Faced with the fact that before inviting for an interview they send a test task. Because Never seen before, I have a question.
Are tasks of this kind normal:
1) rewrite the whole page of the site (with all the scripts (feedback form, carousel, etc.) and adaptive) from tabular to block layout?
2) write a landing page with an adaptive? (psd layouts are available)
I'm afraid of a scammer)

Not normal.
It’s not normal to shovel a real page as a test or build a landing page from scratch.
A normal test task should take no more than two to three hours for the applicant to complete.

A veiled question about theft. So write directly they say so and so: "Can such requirements be ordinary fraud"
Answer: easily.
There are a lot of "effective managers" who use this or that type of fraud in Russia. If the rights and obligations of the parties are not stipulated on paper in legally correct formulations, the probability of a kick approaches one.
How to protect yourself from this?
There is no 100% remedy. Although I would advise the next option - a portfolio.
Code on github and working sites in production. When asked by all sorts of muddy offices to work for food (supposedly a test task, in fact this is most often a real job), politely kick back with the wording there is no time, because working on the next project and nodding at the portfolio and github. A company that really needs a specialist will be completely satisfied with him, of course the scammers will turn away. Of course, there is a possibility that some honest companies will disappear, but it's still better than being a shoed fool. Good luck.
UPD:
I also forgot to add, with the groaning of potential scammers in the style: "well, we need to look at how you work", do not succumb to provocations and offer to meet to discuss the code from YOUR portfolio. For normal specialists who are really looking for a colleague, such a conversation will be MORE THAN enough to understand whether you will cope with the current tasks in this position or not.

Volumetric test tasks that will take more than 1-3 hours for a potential applicant should always be paid. When I was at the helm of a regional web studio, I would do one of the following in such cases:
Usually, I write it right in the job description that there will be a paid test task, but it will only be paid if you complete it successfully. From experience - everyone who closed the bulk tests was hired by me, I have not yet had situations when someone spent 3 days on work and then was not hired.
If you are a June and you don’t have any work at all, then make this page for them, but with the proviso that later you will put it on your Githab Pages and show it as an example of work to other companies if they don’t take you on some then the reasons. At the very least, if you don't get the job, you'll get the first job in your portfolio. A bad portfolio is better than a missing one.

1. I have never seen anything like this, but most likely the norms, because such a task tests your ability to evaluate a problem and find optimal solutions. Feedback forms, carousels and other whistles are also normal, because at least the layout designer must know js.
2. Norm. By the way, get ready for the fact that at the test you will be given extremely confused psd with atypical content, and at the job itself - a designer who draws simple, sometimes even collective farm layouts that suit everyone, at least it was like that for me.
I didn’t understand about scam, apparently you meant whether your layout can be used in production, usually not, but if they do, in any case, you won’t lose anything, add another layout to your portfolio :)

I performed a similar test task - a landing page with an adaptive, they gave me a psd layout. They wrote that the time was 8 hours, but I fiddled much longer.
Have taken. Working.
At that time, any experience was needed, so I didn’t worry: they wouldn’t take it - I put it in my portfolio and went on looking.

Yes, good. The employer needs to test your skills and knowledge.

Typically, a test task should not take more than a few hours, well, 1-2 evenings at most.
Usually, a test task is given not on a real site, but on some kind of test site, that is, it is clear that this is not a live and necessary current site.
In the case of a serious project and a middle-senior vacancy, the task may be more difficult, but by this moment you usually already rummage around where everything is.
Look where you are getting on the Internet, google reviews about the company and decide.

Depends on the position you are applying for. If this is a vacancy in Yandex, provided that you learned about it on the off site, you may actually need to make up a page. This is not unusual, because the applicant who would suit them is able to do it in a few minutes.
And note that the emphasis is on the place from which you learned about the vacancy. It costs nothing for a villain to call himself the same Yandex and force a real professional to do the work for him for free.
If the office is small, unknown, and the position for which you are applying is a junior, then there can be no talk of any page, and even more so a whole landing page. Because it’s easier for an intelligent coder to ask three questions than to pollute his brain with shitty code, which then still needs to be tried to unsee.
Therefore, the only way to deal with reptiles and snickering employers is to value yourself and respect your time.

The requirement of the employer for the sake of testing for a vacancy is a clear sign of problems with the employer in the future.
There are few reasons for this approach:

  • The office either does not have a programmer (s) capable of conducting a classic interview with a future colleague, or they do, but the office has a mess with discipline and roles. (will be extremely hard work)
  • This is not an office, but a person "recruited by ad", usually "under the idea", in the hope of either developing into something due to the initial enthusiasm of newcomers, or stupidly betting on the use of slave labor, like, "they didn’t pay and I myself left ". (normal work will not work at all, the employer may pay a little at first)
  • Pure fraud "on trust", mediation between customers and one-time performers. (a lot of work, all without pay, a lot of nerves)
Any other option is from the realm of fantasy.
According to the standard, the candidate is asked to present something, some samples of his work (if there is no portfolio), an interview is conducted (often more than one). Reputable offices study candidates and their skills even before any interview :)
ps have your blanks made by yourself (not copy-paste) and uploaded by you to some affordable hosting, using different technologies and grids, for example:
//on pure CSS // with bootstrap //with *SS(preprocessors); Show this, a couple of examples should be enough for the employer to assess the culture and skill of the layout designer.
the implementation of this goodness in the form of a //three-page site //ledding //+ some kind of complex form (the basket of an online store wins here)
train at the same time ;)
    Good luck!
