What technologies are trendy in data scince and big data?

Good afternoon!
Some time ago I was engaged in data analytics, and if not BIG, then somewhere in the middle date (hundreds of millions of records). We solved the problems on a fairly standard stack. php, java, pgsql, mysql, sphinx, etc.
In principle, everything is realizable and worked, but now I already want something more "out of the box". What technologies are now fashionable for data collection, storage, distribution, processing and analytics.
Interested in everything. Languages sharpened for working with data and statistical functions, storages sharpened for large amounts of different data, distributors (mapreduce) and queue servers, out-of-the-box olap solutions, etc.
Titles are accepted, preferably with a short synopsis, but you can do without it :)

Wow question :-).
Well, in general, if you are interested in what is in trend, then here are the "almost recent" reviews on the topic. Even - with a brief description.

I think that's more than enough for a start.
