What takes more non-working personal time: work as a Tester (QA) or Developer (Dev)?
It's time to decide: Tester or Developer .
The main base in IT is: basic technologies, algorithms, software development, etc. English at the level.
I'm more inclined towards QA . this area seems to be more interesting and suitable for me.
If development - then probably Front-end . However, it is a little scary that the Web is developing very quickly, and you need to always be in trend.
Learn new versions, frameworks, technologies, etc. And this will take a lot of personal time. For me, as a girl, this is a bit of an unfavorable factor.
Naturally, it has long been hammered into my head that IT itself is constantly evolving and we must constantly learn. But still, I think in QA I will have a little more free personal time, for example, for my family and everything else than in DEV.
Tell me if I'm wrong.

Work cannot occupy non-working time by definition.
Non-working time is occupied by the desire of a specialist to maintain qualifications and deepen specialization in order to remain in demand in a particular labor market.
This desire may be either absent or present, regardless of professional activity.
But it is quite adequate to do what causes you less stress in the first place, in your case this is the direction of QA.
A. You must not have working or non-working hours. You have to live your work and enjoy it. If your job is to sit out x hours of work - congratulations, you will stay where you were at the beginning for the rest of your life.
B. I don't understand the gender accent. "I'm a girl, so you understand." Understand what? What should this change in you as a professional? Do you like IT, or are you trying to make money? You will earn exactly as much as you are willing to invest. And I understand that you are not ready to invest.
B. Life is constantly evolving, not IT. YOU need to constantly develop if you do not want to sit on the same salary all your life. But if you're asking questions like "how can I spend less time," are you sure you want to devote at least some time to this? Why not go into painting, teaching, or whatever that doesn't make you want to get it over with quickly?
D. Your choice at the moment is not the last and final one, and time will never be wasted. You can start in one place and end in another. Until you try, you won't know.
Generally. The only way not to waste your non-working time and at the same time be a good specialist is to enjoy work and have a desire to do it.
The front is the fastest growing.
Databases change very slowly. A good database architect is a highly paid and always needed profession.
It's just that the backend is somewhere in the middle in terms of speed.
If there are enough abilities - I would recommend the database (I'm not offended, I personally don't have enough to be a good database pro). Once a year, to look at the latest changes and improve one thing, to be a constantly in demand professional is also cool. And with the decree it is much easier. Stopudovo will change a little in 2-3 years and it will be easy to return.
At the beginning, I also wanted more personal time, but over time you understand that it’s hard to compete in the market if you are not some kind of genius, it remains to spend more personal time than others in order to somehow grow as a good specialist. In other words: if you want more personal time, you will only need to eat doshik))
I think you need to learn how to live in the present moment, you need to learn how to quickly switch between work and your world, me or personal time. Well, in general, this topic is deep and one can argue and build hypotheses on it for a long time. Forget everything, choose what you like and bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb , don't think about such small things))
I work in the direction of backend. And after work I always do shabashki. I still don't have enough money. And in principle, the advantage of this is that at work you work in one direction, and in the Sabbath in another. The result is more experience.
PS I have been programming for 9 years. So I'm not a beginner programmer. I feel burnout from time to time. But here the incentive plays - if you want something, then earn it. Well, and another incentive - professional development.
For a girl, QA is more profitable than development.
Development is for maniacs who don't need to be forced to work. They themselves will look for free time to do their project. This is usually more common in boys than in girls.
