What software and plugins does front-end developer use on ubuntu? What are the advantages for a developer of Linux (ubuntu)?

Greetings my dear earthlings.
After many years of suffering on windows, I switched to ubuntu. Although I left the wind on another hard drive, for the sake of photoshop and a couple of other programs.
From here two questions:
1) what to install to the coder on ubuntu advise?
So far, I have only installed Sublime and a few plugins for it.
2) What are the pros (perhaps) cons of ubuntu in relation to the front-end web developer?

Ubuntu is too hardcore. I would recommend you OSX though. For the proximity of Photoshop is important.
Otherwise, nothing special. WebStorm (Sublime, Atom, etc.) + command line with node.js. + a pack of virtual machines with IE ( take here )

I use on Ubuntu:
1) Sublime 3 as a text editor
2) command line with zsh shell
3) FileZilla - for ftp access
4) + on VirtualBox I deploy Windows and put photoshop on it. If the computer is normal, there is an SSD disk and computer resources are distributed evenly between the virtual machine and ubuntu, then it works without problems.
Instead of Photoshop (if you do not want to install a virtual machine) - you can install GIMP + plugin with editor settings under the guise of Photoshop.
5) Of the benefits - those described above, it is convenient to set up servers and run sites on localhost without additional tools such as Engels and Denver for Windows (if we are talking about PHP). Ruby, for example, also works better under Linux, on Windows, they say - zapara.

1) Take a normal IDE - phpStorm/webStorm. node.js + npm + gulp/grunt to taste.
2) No photoshop, but there are online solutions (only for viewing and crooked). Pluses - there are no problems with paths and encodings, as on Windows. Convenient native console.

lorentzimys sublime text 2 (registered) works fine and works with ftp itself (it didn’t start on the troika for some reason)
