What should I choose?

The essence of the question is this: I want to become a programmer, there is a choice: to go to Moscow to study at MTU (MIREA, MGUPI, MITHT) - this will significantly limit the time (dormitory, purchases of products in Auchan, travel, development in a new environment, etc.) or stay in my native the city of Smolensk and go to the Smolensk State University with the subsequent Moscow Master's program (to hammer English and C ++ at home). The specialty is the same in both universities, the program seems to be the same too. Here are three excerpts 1) does the Moscow bachelor's crust play? 2) Is it possible to enroll in a master's program at another university? 3) Is it worth going? (The gender is male, there is no carload of money and housing in Moscow, but there will be a hostel if that); very panicking about the choice

A programmer is 99% self-education and self-discipline. The crust may well be replaced by proven working experience. Abroad that the Moscow diploma, that Smolensk - is okay. Better show what you can.

0) Universities do not teach programming. Neither in Moscow nor in Smolensk. You will be given general knowledge of algorithms, discretization, matan and, perhaps, you will learn to think.
1) The crust plays where it is needed. At the moment, its only use is migration to another country and obtaining a work visa (for this you need a diploma). To settle within the Russian Federation - there is no difference. The exception is government agencies.
2) Really
3) In Moscow, you can get connections and work as a trainee/joon, because remotely hardly anyone wants to take you without experience. I would go, not for the sake of the university.
UPD.
Vasya Pupkinwrote that the hostel corrupts. This is true for depraved and infantile people who have strayed from the tight grip of their parents. For a purposeful and responsible person, this will only be a change of place of residence and social circle. Well, some inconvenience in the form of pig neighbors or a half-broken shower / toilet.

1) I agree with Pavel and Roman Kitaev - a crust is needed either for immigration, or for employment in very specific (near state) places.
2) Really, but it makes no sense. Between a person with 2 V/O with no real experience and a person with no V/O at all but with good live experience, I will choose the 2nd one. In general, the absence of a / about does not interfere with making a career.
3) The main thing in life (sometimes even more important than professional skills) is proper networking. Smolensk is a beautiful beautiful city, but there is no useful networking there and never will be.

1. Influences (as already mentioned above) when applying to other countries for a job or a master's degree. Nobody knows about Smolensk there, and the university is most likely not quoted. There may be a situation when you have a burning desire to go to Germany, and your higher education is not higher for them. It is worth clarifying this point.
2. Well, really. But our magistracy does not give anything. In the university you named, and even more so.
3. Worth it. A university is, first of all, connections, contacts, new experience (even experience is more appropriate). And the more competitive the chicken coop in which you live, the higher the bar you can set for yourself. MTU is not MSU, time for personal life, self-development will be in bulk.

Moscow for sure. Moving to a metropolis is likely to change your life dramatically. For good or bad, it's up to you.

If I had such a choice now, I would definitely go to Moscow time. These are much more useful connections, various hackathons and appetizing companies for further internships.

Last week I applied for deductions on my own from MIREA (not satisfied with the level of education), but I think that if there is a choice between MTU and SSU, definitely the first option.
Despite the fact that the level of education there, in my opinion, is quite low, I believe it is still higher than in Smolensk. If there is a goal in the future to go to the magistracy, this will come in handy. For example, mathematics is enough here, strong + in general, the environment will still be from smarter guys.
Moscow is Moscow. Here it is easier to find an internship in a good company, gain experience and useful contacts. You can go to meetups on programming, reports in Yandex, Mail.ru, etc. There you can also have a snack for free with tea and cookies or even pizza with cola. At hackathons, you can get development experience in a team with more experienced developers. Trite more people, acquaintances with whom can be beneficial. I studied only 1 course, but as a result of acquaintances at the university, I received 2 job offers and a few more tips on where to get a job.
Regarding free time: I studied at MIREA and I can say that you will have enough of it. Studying does not take so much, a lot is given to self-study, which allows you to build your schedule quite flexibly. I traveled from the region and spent 5 hours a day on the road, and at the same time I had time to buy food, cook and study. Also, a movie on the road / watch before going to bed + do your project.
But you need to be prepared for the fact that the university will not teach you programming. And this is not a specific problem of MIREA, it is a problem of IT education in Russia. But at the university you can find people who will give advice, suggest what and how best to teach. And then it depends on you whether you will be engaged in self-development or something else.
I won’t say anything about the value of the diploma, because when applying for a job, they never asked me about it, and if the issue of study was touched upon, it was extremely superficial. It seems to me that only diplomas from top universities (Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, etc.) are quoted, but again, rather as an application to skills and experience, and not vice versa.

I can advise MIET (Moscow State University of Electronic Technology, specialty - any technical one, which they will take), though this is not Moscow, but Zelenograd - about 40 minutes from Moscow. A good hostel, there are different clubs of interest, dancing, swimming pool, etc. Zelenograd is a rather calm city - you don’t have to drive the metro every day around the city. The education is good.
If I am not mistaken, the military department has been preserved, i.e. get a military specialty and finish your studies with the rank of lieutenant, if I'm not confusing anything.
